So we decided it might be time to get out of the City for a bit and so have high-tailed it up to Scotchland. Here’s Katie as we make a break for the border (I think we shook the police off around Newcastle). David and Jane were pretty surprised to see us but thankfully had some Sancerre on ice for just such an occasion. Katie’s getaway-outfit consists of my T-shirt (inside out) from H&M, Whistles skirt, Year Zero heart jewellry nonsense and Le Pancaldine shoes from Munich (no website). Now back to the wine.

Katie’s old friend Natalie is in town from Copenhagen today and so they’re going out for drinks in town tonight, which should be good for the economy. Katie’s wearing a vintage Guy Laroche dress (which she was thrilled to buy in a charity shop in St John’s Wood last night), a Louis Vuitton handbag strap (worn as a belt) and a Miss Selfridge necklace. Take care if you’re in Soho tonight.

Our old housemate Simeon and our friend Ant have made some “giant interactive art thing” so we’re going to the opening of the Takeaway Festival at the Science Museum tonight. There is also rumoured to be a “jellyfish that plays music”. It sounds pretty excellent. Katie is wearing Mango trousers, a Whistles silk top, Georg Jensen watch and a silk scarf she got when she lived in Germany.
I’m back in the office after a few days out last week (oh, how I long to be back at Babington House) and literally have dozens of things I need to get done. Q: Is it wrong to mass delete all 400 emails in my inbox? A: Probably. Katie’s off to Nottingham today and is wearing red patent Kurt Geiger shoes, her vintage shirt was a present from Sarah Tate and the dress is from a now forgotten vintage market. Lovely.
So Katie is now on twitter! I think she’s planning on tweeting about fashion related East London-y sort of stuff. If you’re on twitter, then you can follow her here @whatkatiewore. All we need now is a Facebook fan page and an iphone app.
So Katie is pretty angry right now. As far as I can tell, reason number one is because she wanted to bake a wheat free cake but couldn’t find a shop which sold polenta or corn meal or something and so she’s making the cake with normal flour. Reason 2 is because I’ve been less than enthusiastic in following her around East London buying baking paraphernalia. Oh, and I bought a big ready made coffee cake. Which I’m eating whilst taking her picture. Om nom nom nom. She’s wearing my Ralph Lauren shorts, Scorah Pattullo shoes, and a Boxfresh jacket.

We braved the terrifying and horrifying underbelly of Hackney Central today to visit one of our favourite places in London: The Burberry Factory Store. It’s a pretty special place, not least because you can buy £2000 suits or a £4000 overcoats for a few hundred quid. Although that’s still probably a bit out of my price range, financially embarassed as I currently am. This is one of my favourite outfits Katie has worn to date. The dress and matching jacket are possibly vintage and were purchased at St Cuthbert’s Hospice charity shop in Durham, where Katie was at uni. She’s wearing the dress’s belt as a neck-tie with a Tatty Devine cameo brooch, a Liberty scarf as a belt and very cool vintage sunglasses.
It’s a grey dreich day outside but after our mid-week sojourn to Babington House we’re both feeling relaxed and happy – even though I had to leave the house at half seven this morning to go to Leeds. Still, one busy day and then it’s the weekend so can’t complain. Today my lovely Katie is wearing a white frilly top she got in Buenos Aires, the bow Josephine made her, a S’nob skirt, white Wolford tights and Bertie shoes.

So we’re still here at the amazing Babington House. We had a wonderful meal last night which continued into the wee hours. Katie now has several cocktails named after her and we both have pretty sore heads. Nevertheless, today started well with a swim, a sauna and a delicious breakfast. Now time for a walk in the grounds. The beautiful Katie is wearing a Fenn Wright Manson skirt, metallic Sugar boots, MFB necklace and TK Maxx blouse.
